Andrew Duff was educated at Christ Church Cathedral Choir School and Dauntseys School. It was whilst he was at school and visiting his parents in Cyprus and India that his interest in history generally, and military history in particular, were kindled. He was commissioned from Sandhurst into the Royal Anglian Regiment.
