The actor and director Ernst Wendt achieved as a stage actor round 1900 and at the beginning of the 20th century he impersonated numerous roles, among them also classical figures of history of literature. As an established theater actor he joined the film business in 1918 where he took part in few silent movies in front of the camera like "Das Maskenfest des Lebens", "Mania" and "Morphium". Afterwards he shifted his activity and became a movie director.
